Pool Lifeguard Course Gold Coast

The job of a Pool Lifeguard is to supervise and manage safety operations in and around a swimming pool or swimming area. A Pool Lifeguard needs to know and be competent in first aid and dealing with aquatic emergencies as well being able to supervise many people at once in a pool or water environment.

The Pool Lifeguard course will teach you everything you need to know to become a qualified pool lifeguard.

The Royal Life Saving, Pool Lifeguard course is offered through ATC. We are a co-provider of this course on behalf of RLSSQ. This means that we teach the course using curriculum provided by RLSSQ. Certifications for the Pool Lifeguard course are issued by RLSSQ. Along with the new Pool Lifeguard course we also offer an upgrade Pool Lifeguard course.

Program

The Royal Life Saving Pool Lifeguard Award provides the minimum requirement for those persons wishing to provide supervision and integrated rescue responses in an aquatic environment.

The Royal Life Saving Pool Lifeguard Award provides the minimum requirement for those persons wishing to provide supervision and integrated rescue responses in an aquatic environment.

Statements of Attainment

Upon successful completion participants will receive the following Statement of Attainments:

SISCAQU306A Supervise Clients at an Aquatic Facility or Environment
SISCAQU318 Perform Advanced Water Rescues
PUAEME003C Administer Oxygen in an Emergency Situation
PUAEME001B Provide Emergency Care

Course Content

The current minimum industry requirement for employment as a Pool Lifeguard at a Swimming Pool or Aquatic Facility is the Royal Life Saving Pool Lifeguard Statement of Attainment (SOA).
The Pool Lifeguard course is conducted over three days. Participants must have current HLTAID003 Provide First Aid for their Pool Lifeguard Qualification to be valid. You will need to either have a current HLTAID003 First Aid Certificate, or be enrolled in an upcoming First Aid course when you book in for Pool Lifeguard.

This course is for those completing Pool Lifeguard for the first time or for those who have let their SOA expire.

This course aims to develop acceptable standards of knowledge, judgement and physical abilities for the supervision of people in swimming pools and involves practical applications as well as a theory exam.

Pool Lifeguard requires participants to complete workbooks prior to the course commencement.
Minimum Age Requirement: 16 years
